Extended Unemployment: Initial, Continued and Extended Unemployment Claims September 05 2013

Today’s jobless claims report showed declined to both initial and continued unemployment claims as initial claims trended well below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims dropped by 9,000 to 323,000 claims from 332,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims declined by 43,000 claims to 2.951 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.3%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 1.49 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 2.82 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.32 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Extended Unemployment: Initial, Continued and Extended Unemployment Claims May 30 2013

Today’s jobless claims report showed an increase to both initial and continued unemployment claims as initial claims trended well below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims increased by 10,000 to 354,000 claims from 344,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims increased by 63,000 claims to 2.986 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.3%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 1.72 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 2.77 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.50 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Extended Unemployment: Initial, Continued and Extended Unemployment Claims May 16 2013

Today’s jobless claims report showed a notable increase to initial unemployment claims and a slight decline to continued unemployment claims as initial claims trended well below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims increased by 32,000 to 360,000 claims from 328,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims declined by 4,000 claims to 3.009 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.3%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 1.79 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 2.97 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.76 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Today’s jobless claims report showed a decline to both initial and continued unemployment claims as initial claims trended well below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims declined by 4,000 to 323,000 claims from 327,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims declined by 27,000 claims to 3.005 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.3%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 1.76 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 3.02 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.79 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Today’s jobless claims report showed a decline to both initial and continued unemployment claims as initial claims trended well below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims declined by 16,000 to 339,000 claims from 355,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims declined by 93,000 claims to 3.0 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.3%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 1.79 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 3.20 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.99 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Today’s jobless claims report indicated a notable increase in initial jobless claims and a decline in continued unemployment claims as seasonally adjusted initial claims trended just below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” unemployment claims jumped by a notable 46,000 to 388,000 claims from a revised 342,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims dropped to 3.252 million resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.5%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 2.13 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 2.78 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 4.91 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Today’s jobless claims report indicated that both initial and continued unemployment claims declined while seasonally adjusted initial claims remained below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” declined by 12,000 claims to 365,000 claims from a revised 377,000 claims for the prior week while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims declined by 6,000 resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.6%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 2.26 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 3.11 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 5.38 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.

Today’s jobless claims report showed an decline to initial unemployment claims and a flattening to continued unemployment claims while seasonally adjusted initial claims remained below the closely watched 400K level.

Seasonally adjusted “initial” declined to 387,000 claims from last week’s revised 389,000 claims while seasonally adjusted “continued” claims went flat resulting in an “insured” unemployment rate of 2.6%.

Since the middle of 2008 though, two federal government sponsored “extended” unemployment benefit programs (the “extended benefits” and “EUC 2008” from recent legislation) have been picking up claimants that have fallen off of the traditional unemployment benefits rolls.

Currently there are some 2.64 million people receiving federal “extended” unemployment benefits.

Taken together with the latest 3.09 million people that are currently counted as receiving traditional continued unemployment benefits, there are 5.73 million people on state and federal unemployment rolls.
